Classes at San Bao Temple
Join classes at San Bao Temple in San Francisco every second Sunday morning.
Classes are each Sunday from 9:00 to 10:15 am on alternate weeks. See the About page for location details. In the new class beginning August 10 we will study the Universal Gate Sutra. Universal Gate Sutra
Avalokitesvara (Guanyin) Bodhisattva is loved in Mahayana Buddhism for his
compassion towards all sentient beings.
The Universal Gate Sutra is a chapter in the Lotus Sutra that describes the
compassion and abilities of Avalokitesvara (Guanyin) Bodhisattva.
The Sutra describes how Avalokitesvara uses skillful means to appear in whatever
form may be best help any particular person.
The Sutra is frequently chanted in Dharma services held at Buddhist temples,
especially at repentence services.
Teacher - Kee Heng Tiow
Kee Heng has attended Buddhism classes at SanBao Temple since 2003. He first learned meditation in Toronto and later in San Francisco which subsequently led him to investigate and explore more in Buddhism. Kee Heng is a volunteer as a class facilitator at SanBao Temple since 2006. His other interests include road biking, stair climbing and travelling. Kee Heng currently works in the IT industry in the Bay Area.
